Onsitestudio is an architectural practice based in Milan. The studio, led by Angelo Lunati, is a collective of 20 architects united by a shared and enduring fascination with architecture and the contemporary city. With over 15 years of continuous collaboration, Onsitestudio has developed a distinctive approach grounded in research, design precision, and contextual awareness. The studio’s work explores the complex relationships between form, history, and urban life, with projects ranging from public buildings and housing to cultural institutions and masterplans. Through thoughtful design and professional rigor, Onsitestudio has earned an international reputation for its ability to translate conceptual clarity into built form—working across scales, geographies, and disciplines.
Repairing the city
The projects of the studio are informed by a sensitive approach to physical consistency of existing urban contexts and territories. Our work ranges from commercial offices, residential at all scales, to buildings for culture and education. In every different case, we evaluate our projects on how they are able to perform culturally in the city.
Multiple ambitions
We are highly receptive to our Clients’ views and requirements and bring extensive best practice knowledge to their projects in the areas of design and construction. At the same time we aim to design buildings that are belonging to different cultural contexts and reconnect with the universal discourse of architecture.
Collaborative ethos
We enjoy working through collaborations with friends and architects we esteem. This widens our perspectives and improve relations based on shared convinctions. We are also used to collaborate with several consultants from different disciplines; in this way we have proven ability in realising buildings that exceed our clients expectations.
Intelligent and durable constructions
Carbon reduction in construction and use is an integral part of our design process. We have extensive experience leading design teams to create environmentally responsible buildings, believing that an economy of means and durability are the first necessary steps in considering the environmental and economic dimensions of sustainability.
