The building occupies an urban block designed in 1953, its main facade faces Piazza Duca d’Aosta, the monumental urban “foyer” in front of the Central Railway Station. The volume respects the silhouette of the earlier structure, establishing continuity with the remaining elements in the block. Overall, the proportions adhere to the sober, massive, and regular character of the existing architecture. In this manner, the hotel aims to be a piece of architecture in harmony with the modern memory of the city, particularly as expressed by the slender, crystalline volume of the Pirelli Tower.
