Located in the orchards of Santa Caterina Convent in Locarno, the new Cantonal Museum of Natural History is envisioned as a “granary building” — light in construction and enveloped by blind facades. This design allows it to blend into the backdrop of the orchards without conflicting with the convent’s architecture. The interior layout alternates between enclosed rooms and enfilades, enhancing the building’s spatial qualities. The project is a collaboration with Pasquini Tranfa architects.
